Dr. Pittman-Hobbs is Medical Director at the Baylor Scott and White All Saints Campus. She provides symptom management and an extra layer of support for patients and families facing serious illness. She was recognized in the Fort Worth Magazine as one of the Top Doctors in Palliative Care, and a Nominee for Physician of the Year at the DFW Hospital Council’s Healthcare Hero’s Luncheon. She has presented several abstracts in the field including one on Developing an Integrative Model for Supportive and Palliative Care in the Emergency Department, that was presented at the 21st International Congress on Palliative Care in Montreal, Canada. Prior to a full time career in Supportive and Palliative Care, Dr. Pittman-Hobbs worked as a hospitalist and rheumatologist. All of her experiences in medicine have been instrumental in shaping her skills and ability to empathize and care for patients and families.
Dr. Pittman – Hobbs received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and completed her internship, residency and fellowship at the University of Texas – Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX.
Shawnta Pittman – Hobbs, MD is board certified in Hospice and Palliative Care, Rheumatology, and board eligible in Internal Medicine. She is a member of the Baylor Scott & White All-Saints Ethics Committee, Ethics Consortium, Dallas County Medical Society, AAHPM, ACP, AMA, American College of Rheumatology, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Southwest Alumnae Chapter. Outside of medicine, Dr. Pittman – Hobbs enjoys basketball and spending time with her husband and two children.
