Dr Brieanna Nation-Howard is currently the Medical Director of the Supportive & Palliative Care team at Baylor Medical Center Carrollton. Dr. Nation is a fellowship trained, board certified Hospice and Palliative Care physician, as well as board certified family medicine physician. She was recently accepted into the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine as a Fellow, designating her commitment to the advancement of palliative medicine and her dedication to the comprehensive care of the seriously ill. In 2012, she completed her hospice and palliative care fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL, where she also completed her family medicine residency. She joined the BSW Healthcare team 3 years ago. Prior to that, she was an Associate Medical Director with Community Palliative Consultants, a private palliative care consultative service in Jacksonville, FL. It was during this time, she was honored as one of Jacksonville’s “Community Healthcare Heroes” by the Jacksonville Business Journal, for her work in the field of palliative care and its impact on the community. She also had the honor of participating in numerous radio and television interviews clarifying the role of palliative care and promoting palliative care in community healthcare. She has had numerous articles published in palliative medicine scholarly journals and given numerous academic and community lectures on topics related to palliative medicine.
