About Supportive and Palliative Care

Supportive and palliative care is a recognized medical specialty focusing on comfort, care and planning for patients and families facing serious illness and end of life issues.  Our supportive and palliative care providers are board certified in internal and family medicine offering quality care in a comforting environment. 

Some patients face a variety of concerns in what can be a difficult time.  Our providers are available to help with pain relief or other upsetting physical symptoms.  They are also trained to assist patient's and their families with the following:  

  • Emotionally adjusting to illness
  • Exploring goals of care
  • Assistance planning for the future 

Program Goals

Our primary goal is to improve quality of life for both patients and their families and support them in:  

  • Improving symptoms such as physical pain, shortness of breath, nausea and more
  • Alleviating emotional pain, depression and anxiety
  • Addressing spiritual issues that may arise
  • Understanding their illness and provide coping mechanisms that will help patients transition through stages of illness and grief
